We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to support a retail pharmacy setting in Dallas. In this role, you will assist in the preparation, distribution, and management of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately enter medication orders and prepare prescriptions per established protocols.
Dispense medications in accordance with labeling requirements and dosage standards.
Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding, IV admixtures, and cart fills under pharmacist supervision.
Maintain a specialized area of responsibility (purchasing, auditing, billing, inventory control, medication reconciliation, etc.).
Assist with the coordination of drug recalls and ensure expired medications are returned for credit.
Monitor and maintain pharmacy inventory, ensuring shelves are clean, stocked, and organized.
Support patients and staff with non-clinical questions, escalating to pharmacists when necessary.
Deliver medications and carts to patient care areas as needed.
Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations, policies, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; pharmacy technician training program preferred.
Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience, with retail or hospital experience preferred.
MediClear Certification (or equivalent) required.
Knowledge of pharmacy practices, pharmaceutical calculations, aseptic techniques, and medication safety standards.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pharmacy staff and healthcare teams.
