Pay Rate: $50 – $55 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment in New York, NY. The therapist will be responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatments safely and accurately while providing high-quality patient care in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
Administer therapeutic radiation treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
Verify treatment prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and technical integrity
Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and patient immobilization devices
Perform patient setup, localization, and verification using radiographic or electronic imaging
Take, interpret, and submit port/beam images for physician review and approval
Maintain accurate daily treatment documentation and record/verify systems
Perform chart checks and report discrepancies promptly
Conduct daily quality assurance and safety checks per regulatory guidelines
Monitor patient condition during treatment and report any adverse reactions
Maintain continuous visual and auditory communication with patients during treatment
Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide reassurance as needed
Identify and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate clinical and physics staff
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment area
Assist with student instruction, evaluations, chart rounds, and scheduling as required
Participate in chart rounds, in-services, and training sessions
Demonstrate professional conduct and patient-centered care at all times
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in therapeutic radiation therapy
Hands-on experience with Varian TrueBeam technology
Proficiency using MOSAIQ EMR
Ability to perform basic dose calculations using computer software
Strong knowledge of radiation safety, QA procedures, and treatment equipment
Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy program
