Pipe Welder **Location:** Theodore, AL, United States, 36582 **Company:** Chart Industries **_Ensuring Chart's Success..._** **_What Will You Do?_** + Pipe Welder spends at least 70% of their work time measuring, cutting, and welding different types of pipes together to create piping systems + Welding on various materials at required positions using different welding processes, including, but not limited to, GTAW, SMAR, FCAW, GMAW and SAW to create piping as designed + Performs work associated with the installation, calibration, and operation of different kinds of production machines, depending on company specialization or materials used + Test and inspects machines to determine safe and efficient operation, performs routine maintenance, and fixes standard malfunctions + Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specification and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation + Checks that items produced pass quality control test + Lay out, position, fit and weld various piping and structural components, including pipes, flanges, fittings, valves, piping supports, structural plates, beams, etc., in accordance with the supplied piping/structural fabrication drawings + Set up, troubleshoot, and operate welding machines according to job specifications and welding procedures + Adjust valves, gauges and flames as needed and be capable of handling compressed gas and oxygen cylinders safely **_Your Physical Work Environment Will Require..._** **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role includes close vision. **WORK ENVIRONMENT:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. Loud noise level in the work environment. **_Your Experience Should Be..._** Required + Pipe welding certification + Ability to perform welding on various materials at required positions using different welding processes, including, but not limited to, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, GMAW and SAW. + High school diploma or equivalent + At least 2 years of related experience + Basic math skills + Attention to detail essential + Ability to lift and move heavy objects + _Proven ability to identify and solve basic to moderate level problems_ + _Overtime and weekend hours, as needed_ + Experience using blueprints and design sketches + Certification in Pipe welding Preferred + Familiarity with ISO procedures + Knowledge or experience working with Chart products **_Our Benefits Package..._**
