Integrated Oncology, a LabCorp Specialty Testing Group, provides reference anatomic pathology, hematopathology and molecular pathology testing services to hospitals, health systems and independent oncology practices. The schedule for this position will be: 3rd shift, Wednesday-Saturday 10:00pm-8:30am.
Job Responsibilities:
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform PCR based molecular oncology testing in accordance with standard operating procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of various types of cancer.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Utilize a wide array of instrumentation, including 3130xl/3730xl, Tecan, Quantstudio7, and ABI 7900 instruments, performing quality control and calibrations, as required.
Accurately enter results of testing. Review reports to ensure accurate test result reporting in preparation for review by a Director / Pathologist.
Recognize problems and initiate troubleshooting steps to evaluate testing failures and other problems.
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science required.
Previous experience is not required at the Technologist Trainee level.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus.
High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
