Join our DYNAMIC team at Bickford Senior Living as a Happiness Coordinator! The Happiness Coordinator is responsible for all things FUN at the Branch, coordinating and providing engaging and purpose-filled events and activities.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement activities in the following categories: physical (exercise), social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, and special requests of the residents.
  • Conduct/lead activities as needed.
  • Develop activities according to residents’ lifestyle choices.
  • Invite and/or remind residents to participate in planned activities.
  • Chaperone activities outside the community.
  • Operate a Bickford vehicle to transport residents to activities where applicable.
  • Train, support, and instruct other team members to conduct activities.
  • Develop a Monthly Activity Calendar that incorporates activities 7 days per week and includes evening and weekend activities.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement decoration of the community for special events, seasons and holidays.
  • Coordinate food needs for scheduled activities with the kitchen.
  • Operate activity program within Branch budget guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High-school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in recreation or other health care related field preferred.
  • A Certification in Assisted Living Activities is preferred but required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • A valid driver’s license and a driving record consistent with Bickford’s insurance carrier guidelines.
