Utidia is a social impact-driven platform committed to equipping African talents—especially undergraduates and young professionals—with digital skills, apprenticeship experiences, and career opportunities for the future of work.
As a proud subsidiary of Youthup Global, Utidia continues the broader mission of solving youth unemployment across Africa by championing remote readiness, practical exposure, and decent digital opportunities. At the heart of this work is a powerful belief: Learning must lead to doing.
What Does “Utidia” Mean?
The name Utidia is a blend of two powerful words:
“Youth”– Africa’s greatest demographic strength
- “Dia” – a Greek word for “passing through”
Together, it means: Youth passing through experience — a call to action for learning by doing, not just by studying.

Utidia brings to life the core principles of Youthconomics, the personal and professional philosophy developed by Dr. Faith Nwaobia.
This philosophy repositions African youth not just as beneficiaries of charity or job seekers, but as creators of value within a new economic order powered by digital work, practical learning, and self-leadership.
Youthconomics believes in activating youth participation in the economy before graduation—and Utidia is the practical platform that makes this possible.
Meet the Founder
Dr. Faith Nwaobia, Founder & President of Utidia and Board Chair of Youthup Global, created Utidia from a place of deep personal experience.
After graduating, he spent six difficult years job-hunting, stuck in underpaid teaching jobs before finally landing a decent role in a bank. That journey of frustration, delay, and disillusionment became the fuel behind his mission:
“No young person should ever have to waste their most productive years waiting for an opportunity.”
Through Utidia, Dr. Faith is building the kind of system he never had—one where talent meets opportunity early, and where experience starts now, not later.
