SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

PITTSFIELD, MA

Are you a detail-driven accounting professional with a passion for cost analysis, operational insights, and accurate financial reporting? We're seeking a Senior Staff Accountant (Cost Accountant) to join our dynamic accounting team and support the financial backbone of our client’s growing organization.

This is a critical role that collaborates across departments providing valuable reporting and guidance to drive strategic decision-making, product improvement, and profitability.

Duties Include:

• Ensure accurate and timely billing
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations with detailed supporting schedules
• Collect and analyze data on job-specific and operational costs
• Identify discrepancies and ensure appropriate adjustments are recorded
• Support the annual audit and tax filing processes
• Participate in day-to-day accounting operations
• Maintain fixed asset records and perform regular reconciliations
• Map revenue and costs to the general ledger for accuracy
• Assist in setting and evaluating cost standards and allocations
• Maintain project demographic and financial information
• Recommend process improvements to enhance accuracy, reduce costs, and maximize profitability
• Support team members across the accounting function as needed
• Handle other accounting responsibilities as assigned

You’re a Great Fit If You Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (Preferred)
• 3–5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant, Cost Accountant, or equivalent role
• Advanced knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and financial analysis
• Understanding of cost accounting and organizational accounting principles
• Strong proficiency in financial reporting software and ERP systems (Vista experience preferred)
• Experience in maintaining sub-ledgers, supporting spreadsheets, and reconciling inter-company transactions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to prepare financial reports and deliver data-driven recommendations
• Knowledge of financial guidelines, internal controls, and risk assessments

Salary: $90 -110k (Based on experience)
