Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to join our team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will oversee procurement activities, ensure accurate inventory management, and maintain strong vendor relationships. You will collaborate with sales, production, and accounting teams to support business operations effectively. Responsibilities: - Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of materials. - Generate purchase orders and verify the receipt of goods to maintain accurate records. - Conduct regular cycle counts of critical production materials and perform comprehensive physical inventory checks quarterly. - Collaborate with sales and production teams to obtain vendor quotations and coordinate deliveries. - Monitor and manage inventory levels to support production demands and minimize shortages. - Utilize company systems and tools to process transactions and maintain procurement data. - Communicate with internal teams to ensure alignment on purchasing needs and inventory management. - Provide accurate and timely reports to the Controller regarding procurement activities and inventory status. - Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory. - Support ongoing improvements to procurement processes and systems. Requirements - Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management roles. - Proficiency in using integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. - Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel. - Familiarity with working in a small manufacturing environment with fewer than 50 employees. - Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-direction. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with various teams. - Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. - Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
