Under the direction of the Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor (PSDS) II, duties include planning, organizing and assigning work to Communications Center personnel; ability to work a variety of shifts – including holidays and weekends; prepare performance evaluations, monthly CHP 100PSD forms, citizens’ complaints, injury and illness reports; monitor/manage critical incidents; ability to perform dispatch duties using InformCAD; provide direction and assistance to subordinate personnel and other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Chico Communications Center PSDSIs are on the 03/12 Alternate Workweek, with seniority sign-ups for shift selection, vacation, and regular days off. Shifts are structured so that each PSDSI have a full weekend off every other week.

Special Requirements

• The position(s) require(s) a Drug Screening be passed prior to being hired.

• The position(s) require(s) Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
• The position(s) require(s) a(n) Typing Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.

This position requires the ability to type at a minimum speed designated on the Classification Specifications (link available in the minimum requirements section).  You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed prior to being hired.  Additional information regarding acceptable typing tests:

The Chico Communications Center dispatch employees receive an additional $300.00 recruitment and retention monthly pay differential.
