Job Description

As a member of RANE’s team of analysts, you will be responsible for delivering forward-looking and actionable intelligence related to geopolitical and security developments, with a focus on supporting a leading global blockchain technology client. This full-time, dedicated analyst will act as an extension of the client’s intelligence team while remaining an integrated member of RANE’s internal geopolitical and security intelligence team.
The analyst will provide both strategic and tactical intelligence analysis tailored to the client’s business needs and operating context. This includes monitoring and assessing threats to personnel, assets, and operations, as well as identifying intersections across different domains of risk—such as geopolitical, cyber, and physical security threats. The analyst will have full access to RANE’s Geopolitical & Threat Intelligence platform and collaborate closely with colleagues and subject matter experts across RANE’s global risk intelligence network.

This position is remote, with preferred location in the UAE or other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Candidates based in Singapore, the Philippines, or Australia are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a dedicated full-time analyst to a global leader in blockchain technologies, providing written and oral analysis to meet the client’s strategic and tactical intelligence needs.
  • Conduct open-source intelligence collection and analysis, incorporating insights from proprietary content, in-house experts, and RANE’s global network of 7,000+ risk specialists across 140+ countries.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on geopolitical and security developments worldwide with relevance to the client’s operations, assets, and personnel.
  • Deliver daily intelligence briefings and longer-form strategic reports that support informed decision-making by client stakeholders.
  • Participate in RANE's daily internal analyst meetings, leveraging broader team insights to inform client deliverables.
  • Incorporate relevant contributions from RANE’s in-house analysts and network specialists into reporting and briefing materials for the client.
  • Work flexible hours to align with the client’s time zone needs, providing overnight monitoring and ensuring live availability for meetings twice a week.
  • Be available during global "surge" events to provide enhanced monitoring and analytical support as required.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Creativity and clarity in developing logical, evidence-backed analysis.
  • Strong open-source research capabilities, including leveraging global/local media, social platforms, government sources, and academic publications.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and editorial skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver briefings to executive-level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated initiative and curiosity, with the ability to ask critical questions and pursue answers.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team orientation with an ability to collaborate across distributed teams and time zones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required with demonstrated academic achievement; Master's degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in intelligence analysis, security operations, or geopolitical risk monitoring in the public or private sector.
  • Prior experience conducting professional, qualitative research and writing analytical reports.
  • Global intelligence expertise, with a preference for candidates familiar with blockchain and cryptocurrency risk landscapes.
  • Experience supporting Global Security Operations Centers (GSOCs) is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English (additional language proficiency a plus).
  • Flexibility to function in a startup-like atmosphere with ambiguity and shifting priorities.

Additional Requirements

  • Role is remote, with opportunities for in-person team gatherings as appropriate.
  • Location: Preference for UAE or other GCC countries; Singapore, Philippines, or Australia acceptable; candidates must have authorization to work for any employer in the country where they are resident.
  • Candidates must provide a writing sample and pass pre-employment vetting.
  • Salary Range: USD $60,000–$80,000 depending on experience.
