The UC Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences is the first public pharmacy school in the Los Angeles-Orange County region. Its faculty and programs span a continuum from discovery, development, and delivery of new drugs, devices, and diagnostics all the way to optimizing medication therapy in patients and patient populations. The school offers a BS in Pharmaceutical Sciences, MS in Pharmacology, PhD in Pharmacological Sciences, and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD.)
As part of the Susan & Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences, we actively collaborate with schools and programs in medicine, nursing, and population, public health, and the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute to educate, train, and mentor the next generation of pharmaceutical scientists and clinical pharmacists. The school's mission is to be a driving force for advancing health and wellness of individuals and society.

Responsibilities:

The incumbent will work with College of Health Sciences faculty and clinicians from the School of Pharmacy and School of Medicine to conduct a project that aims to establish a pilot intensive multidisciplinary post-discharge guideline-directed medical therapy (GDMT) optimization program. The pilot will use remote monitoring to assist with assessment of clinical status, combined with a fast-paced weekly visit approach to achieve target or maximally tolerated GDMT doses early after hospital discharge. Study subjects will come from UCI Health and will be cared for in a multidisciplinary team consisting of health coaches, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, and cardiologists.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Basic understanding of data analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organization and communication skills (oral, written)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment


Preferred:

  • Prior experience in patient recruitment or patient communication
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
