Job Description



AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Charlotte, NC .

This position is expected to begin in June 2026.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. 
  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
  • This internship offers the chance to collaborate closely with our B+P team on dynamic, high-impact projects for high-tech, mission-critical clients.
  • Interns will engage in a variety of tasks and challenges at different stages of a project, including due diligence, technical design, construction administration and observation, as well as project closeout.

Qualifications



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering field with the intent to continue after the internship.
  • Candidates must have completed 1 year of study in their program.
  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required for this role.

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS

:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge in the following software: CADD, HCS, Revit, Sketchup, AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoades, InSite, GIS, Adobe Creative Cloud, Rhino, and etc.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Prior internship experience.

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in Charlotte, NC . The selected candidate must be available to work in Charlotte, NC on a scheduled basis.
