Position Title: Assistant Professor of Psychology - Quantitative Psychology (Tenure Track)

Qualifications:

Required:

A Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field

Demonstrated interests or potential for developing external funding, with a focus on cutting-edge data analytics or computational modeling, particularly as applied to health and well-being

Preferred:

Ability to contribute to the Quantitative course offerings of the department at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

A record of research on cutting-edge data analytics, such as (intensive) longitudinal modeling, dynamic modeling, psychometrics, and structural equation modeling

Capable of participating in research utilizing multidisciplinary collaboration.

Description:

As part of a multi-year strategic hiring and growth initiative in Applied Psychological Science, the Department of Psychology at The University of Oklahoma is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Quantitative Psychology with a focus on Health Outcomes. This position aligns with the strategic plans in Psychology and in the Office of the Vice President for Research and Partnerships ().

The Psychology department offers the PhD in Cognitive, Industrial/Organizational, Applied Social and Developmental, and Quantitative Psychology (Norman campus), and an MA in Organizational Dynamics (Tulsa campus). Additionally, some faculty members also work in a multidisciplinary degree program in cellular and behavioral neurobiology.

For the tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Quantitative Psychology, the department seeks an emerging scholar with a promising research program in cutting-edge data analytics or computational modeling, particularly as applied to health and well-being. We are looking for a candidate whose research will complement and extend our department's strengths in (intensive) Longitudinal Modeling, Dynamic Modeling, Psychometrics, and Structural Equation Modeling. A commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration is highly valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong potential for developing an externally funded research program, a commitment to excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in Quantitative Methods, and a dedication to mentoring students from varied backgrounds. A Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Psychology, Statistics, Data Science, or a closely related field is required by the appointment start date (August 16, 2026). Teaching load of 2:2.
